MICROBLADING: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent solution to thinning or asymmetrical brows. This is a wonderful treatment for people who have patchy, uneven, or non-existent eyebrows due to over-plucking or medical conditions. During a microblading procedure, the artist uses a specialized hand tool to create tiny etches in the skin which resemble fine hair strokes. When microblading is done well, it should look extremely natural, blending seamlessly into any existing eyebrow hair (if present). My goal is for you to walk out of my studio looking like you have amazing eyebrows- not like you've "had something done".
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Microblading is a very meticulous procedure which requires a great deal of attention to detail. Your brow is being reconstructed or reshaped one hair stroke at a time. This will require two sessions- the initial session, and the perfecting session performed 6-8 weeks after the first. Your initial session will last approximately 2 hours. This may seem like a long appointment, but rest assured the time spent will be worth the final result. During your initial session, your face will be measured carefully to determine the ideal brow shape for your individual bone structure. The shape will be drawn on carefully and measured again for symmetry, and all hair outside of the new shape will be tweezed. I will then formulate the perfect pigment color to match your existing brow or hair color before the microblading process begins.
DOES IT HURT?
Microblading is generally very well tolerated, though some clients may find it uncomfortable at times. A topical numbing cream is used before and during the treatment to keep you comfortable for the duration of the procedure. Many clients tell me that the tweezing is actually worse than the microblading!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of microblading is $600, which covers both the initial treatment and the perfecting session at 6-8 weeks. Both of these appointments are crucial for an optimal result. Touch-ups are recommended annually to keep the color fresh. Annual touch-ups taking place between 12-18 months after the initial procedure will cost $300. Any touch-ups prior to a year will be prorated accordingly.
CAN'T I JUST BUY A MICROBLADING GROUPON FOR A MUCH LOWER PRICE ELSEWHERE?
Absolutely. However, let's not forget that we are opening the skin... ON YOUR FACE. Microblading has increased in popularity by leaps and bounds, and unfortunately regulations for the procedure are pretty lacking. I believe that as an artist, what sets me apart is my experience in a dermatology setting, training in skin science and tissue interaction, and the exceptional training I received specifically for this procedure. Microblading is both an art and a science, and I can honestly say that I love it enough to lay awake at night thinking about it. When it comes to your safety and the integrity of your skin, you shouldn't settle for anything less.
